The course includes technical tips as well as various strategies and concepts rated by the practitioners. Case histories will be used as examples.

Using the science of Light and Optics we will define and discuss Abbe Value and its relationship to refractive index.  We will provide techniques to assist in selecting the most appropriate lens material based on refractive error and its complexity.  As an overview we will discuss ways to present different lens material to patients.

Almost everyone uses computers in one way or another. The participant will be able to recognize various forms of computer vision syndrome and how to manage or decrease the special strain computer usage causes. This will include computers and the workstation.


2:00 p.m. Diagnosis, Diseases and Remedies (Dual Approved)

This segment will provide an overview of the ocular pathologies that are often diagnosed without remedy. We will review these conditions, how they are diagnosed and the choices that we can provide to patients. What will be interesting is to see how far the technology has come to diagnose and offer better remedies.


3:00 p.m. Profitability with Out of Network Patients (Business Management)

This course reviews the pros and cons of working as an in-network provider vs. an out-of-network provider. Touch points include:  referrals, billing issues and paperwork, staff productivity, vendor restrictions and patient loyalty.
