There is clear evidence for techniques that can both delay the onset of myopia and retard its progression. Find out how and find out how a risk profile for myopic progression can be established as early as age 6.
10:00am - 11:00am: Blue Light Radiation - A Material Solution | Laura Frezza | OD | One Hour
With the need for discussion at the dispensing table on Blue Light concerns, we will explore the different materials currently made that are good, best and better.
We will touch on those at greatest risk for exposure and how these filters perform in daylight. In this one hour session we will also address how to produce a protective lens that allows attributes like premium AR, thinness and lightness lens materials while removing potential patient ghosting issues.
11:00am - 12:00pm: Pediatric Contact Lens Fitting | Professor Robert Russo | CL | One Hour
This course will deal with the fitting of the pediatric aphakic contact lens infant. Included in this lecture will be fitting techniques, insertion and removal techniques for practitioners, parent education on insertion and removal and aftercare. In addition, this course will deal with the psychology of how to deal with family members when fitting the pediatric aphakic infant.

12:30pm - 1:30pm: The Solution Dilemma | Professor Robert Russo | CL | One Hour
This course will cover solutions and disinfection systems for hard, soft and gas permeable lenses. Emphasis will be placed on preservatives and other components of contact lens solutions that may cause an adverse ocular response when incompatible solutions are used. In addition, this course will deal with FDA lens groups and how lens deposits affect each group.
1:30pm - 2:30pm: M R Materials | Laura Frezza | OD | One Hour
Ever wonder what properties make up a 1.67 index lens or why large lens manufactures select the materials they do? This session will detail how a combination of material characteristics create a more merchandisable finish lens on which you can rely. Come learn a new set of words that better describes the underlying DNA of lenses, and the material they're made from patient discussions.
2:30pm - 3:30pm: Rx Sunwear | Adam Cherry of Cherry Optical |OD | One Hour
The Rx Sunwear market is finally growing! In this course, we'll review the latest lens and coating products that will ensure best performance while also delivering style patients are looking for. This intermediate-to-advanced level course will showcase the "why and how" regarding everything Rx sun.
