Annual Awards Committee Update

Each year NYSSO presents several awards to honor members who have made significant contributions to the Society and opticianry.  This year, these awards were announced at the 70th Anniversary Gala Banquet & Awards Ceremony held at the Georgian Resort & Conference Center in Lake George on July 15, 2006.

The 20056NYSSO Award Winners are:

Lifetime Achievement Award
In recognition of ongoing contributions and loyal dedication to the advancement of the ideals of the Society and its continuing development.
Presented to:  John A. Kennedy, Jr.

Richard A. Terry Award
In recognition of service and devotion to NYSSO Colleagues and the Profession.
Presented to:  Laurie Schreiber

Optician of the Year 
Through his efforts, this individual has elevated the standards of ophthalmic dispensing in New York State, and has faithfully served the best interests of the Society, and has been designated its Optician of the Year.
Presented to:  Brion S. Shapiro
